Jan 18th - 22nd, 2009
The fridgid weather passed momentarily, allowing us to get some work done. Sunday the 18th, we put up walls for the smaller bathroom.
On Tuesday the 20th, the temps were in the upper 20's. So the rest of the siding was finished!
We are both very happy that we hired out this job. They did a wonderful job!
Wednesday - The heating guys got started!!....just a little bit longer till we have heat.
Insulation Chutes need to be stapled up in the vaulted area. Fun! since I seemed to have developed a fear of heights over the winter.
The wall between the Sitting Room and Mud Room is finished.

More Interior Framing
Jan. 10th & 11th
During the week, the soffits went in for the overhang along with 3 can lights. All we needed to do was wire them up.

Just one small portion of the front of the house is left to be sided.

It will probably not be finished this week due to sub zero temps and wind chill advisory's predicted for the week.
Laundry room & walk-in closet walls finished except for the pocket door framing, hence the large opening's.
The wall between master bath & master bedroom went up..
..as well as the door frame from master bedroom into the hallway.
Just a few more walls to go.
We are hoping the heating company will get started sometime this week.

Interior Framing
Jan. 3rd & 4th, 2009
This weekend we continued the interior framing.
We now have a hallway,
bedroom closet &
...not shown is the start of a laundry room and another wall that has not been lifted up.
Plus, we started installing soffit chutes in preparation of insulating the ceiling.

What You've Missed...
December 15th-Jan 1st, 2008
I know, I know, no updates for 3 weeks. =(
Well, the week of Dec. 15th - 19th we worked on a stairway to the basement. Single digit temps and some evenings below zero, tends to slow down progress. But we finished building the steps on the 26th.
That weekend,(27th & 28th) we built and lifted 3 interior walls.
The weather was cooperative over the weekend, with temps in the upper 20's. This allowed us to finish up some work outside. The ledger board for the Front Entry went up,
along with almost all of the exterior fixtures.
We were pressed for time to have the exterior fixtures finished,
knowing the crew hired for siding would be ready to get started by the 29th.
When we arrived monday night, the garage had been started.
By Wednesday, Dec. 31st most of the west side had been sided and...
..our Front Entry door had been installed as well as the door between house & garage.
Jan. 1st 2009 Happy New Year!
Tired of using a step ladder between the house & garage, we built a platform & steps. We also ran wiring, installed an outlet & some light switches. We now have power to the outdoor light. Since the majority of our time at the house is evenings...we are happy to have it working.
