Texture, Tape & Primer

June 13th & 14th, 2009
Texture was applied to all the ceilings.

Once the texture was dry we had to blow all the fine sheetrock dust off the walls and hopefully out the window.

Once done with that, it was time to plastic all the windows, tape all electrical boxes, plumbing etc. and cover the subfloor from the primer and paint splatter.

Scaffolding & ladders set up...we are ready to spray primer on all the walls and ceilings.

After the primer is sprayed on the wall, it then needs to be back rolled. Gotta catch them drips!

The primer covered the mud lines very nicely.
Nice fresh white walls......but not for long.

Next Step...PAINT!

Pine Doors and More Plumbing

June 6th & 7th, 2009
We started the scary but fun process of staining over the weekend.

We finished all 3 coats except the polyurethane on one door.

And have a good start on 3 others

Only 7 more doors to go!!

Meanwhile, the men continued to work on plumbing in the basement.

Soldering copper pipe & hooking up appliances in the Utility room

Including 2 faucets on the exterior of the house and one in the garage.

Drywall, Cellulose & Paint

May 29th-31st, 2009
It was essential to finish the garage in its entirety prior to June 2nd. Our Cabinets were scheduled to arrive that day and would need to be stored in the garage.

So by Friday night, the drywall in the garage was ready to have texture applied.
We hurriedly covered all the garage door tracks and openers with plastic so he could get started.

Saturday Morning, we blew cellulose insulation into the attic.

Aahhhh, what a FUN job!
Due to the chemical particles and dust in the air, it is important to stay covered. Eye Protection, face mask etc.

No Problem!!!
It was only 80 some degrees up there. =)
Phew!!

Monday night, painted the garage using a sprayer.
Once it was starting to dry, it was time to take down all the plastic and clean up.

Painted, Cleaned up and back to normal.
